Coulthard shares his (convenient) view on Red Bull affairs

By Pat Espresso

Former F1 driver David Coulthard ramps up the Red Bull scandal by criticising Mark Webber for “airing his dirty laundry in public”.

In his regular column for the Daily Telegraph this week, Coulthard claims that the Australian ace has adopted a risky strategy by making a public show of his dissatisfaction over the team’s preference for Sebastian Vettel.

“Red Bull are clearly a team trying to do it the fair way, whatever Mark Webber may have said at Silverstone,” writes the Scottish pundit, confounding the general view that the team are anything but even-handed.

What’s worth pointing out is that David Coulthard is a consultant for Red Bull Racing. Webber’s reaction to his colleague’s opinion may not help team harmony…

I think DC’s got it massively wrong in his description of Red Bull wanting to be fair to both drivers. It is so obvious that the RB team favour Fritz’ over Webber. If any confirmation of this is needed you only had to see Christian Horner at the post race PR event with race winner Webber and his team of engineers. His body language spoke a multitude of words! Horner simply did not want to be part of it and could not wait to get away to spend time with his ‘star driver’ Sebastian.

From a race fans point of view it’s refreshing to hear a driver say it like it is. MW is a hard working driver that has shown drive and commitment to be in the position he is currently in and deserves better treatment from his ‘team’.

I couldn’t agree more with you. Obviously it shows that Coulthard and Horner are paid every month by the same company. That probably tell us why they support Vettel. They may be employed next year too… unlike Webber.
