LATEST F1 NEWS – Felipe: not number two at Ferrari

By Pat Espresso

FELIPE Massa has spoken out over the team orders row, insisting he is not a number two driver at Ferrari.

The Brazilian told the BBC he would rather quit F1 than play a supporting role as a driver.

“When I say I am a number two driver, I will not race any more,” he said. “And I’m not just here to race, I’m here to win.”

When reporters asked if he would give up his position if the same situation arose again in Hungary, Massa said: “I will win.”

It will be an emotional return to the Hungaroring this weekend for Massa, coming a year after he fractured his skull in a near-fatal accident at the track.

But the 29-year-old driver said it would not be playing on his mind this weekend.

“I don’t remember a single thing from the accident,” he said. “When you close the visor you do not think about these things. You just think about doing your best.”

Massa is a cheat. Simple as that. He should be banned, as should Ferrari.
